USS Enterprise CVN-65 Port of Calls

 

Homeported in San Francisco Bay at Naval Air Station Alameda. Deployed on three West Pacific and Indian Ocean deployments including a transit through the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea in April 1986. Through the Straits of Gibraltar, the USS Enterprise CVN-65 cruised along the African coast and around the Cape of Good Hope to Perth, Australia.

Port of calls and travels included: San Diego (1984, 1985); Hawaii (1984, 1986); Philippines (1983, 1984, 1986); Australia (1983, 1986); Japan (1983); Hong Kong (1984); Singapore (1986); Pakistan (1986); Italy (1986); France (1986); and an excursion via trains and planes to Paris, Amsterdam, London and Birmingham while in port Toulon, France.

Deployments included two "Crossing the Line" ceremonies (crossing the equator) with King Neptune before the Royal High Court of the Raging Main; once as a Pollywog (1984) and then as a trusty Shellback (1986).
